When the best young players become available, the elite clubs in World football have to be in the market.
We live in a world now where the sums on offer are astronomical but that's hardly the players fault.
Clearly Odegaard has the skills to pay the bills and those within the game that have seen him first hand, suggest that Real Madrid have got themselves a player with his head screwed firmly on. 16 going on 26 if you like.
A decision made purely with a notion of receiving the best education possible in Madrid, which will be reciprocated by the club.
No Freddy Adu this.

UNIQUE

Real Madrid have some of the best exponents in world football, of that there is no doubt.
However, they don't have a player like Odegaard. In many respects his skillset will be unique for Los Blancos.
The pace of Bale allied to the trickery of Ronaldo plus a helping hand of a passing range similar to Kroos...yes, the kid has it all.
Why wouldn't you want to purchase a player that offers you so much? Age is just a number right? Lionel Messi made his debut for Barca at 17 remember...

EVOLUTION

Players get old. Players move on. It's a fact of football life.
Sooner or later any team needs to undergo some sort of evolution.
Real Madrid's side is top-heavy with players in their late 20's or early 30's at present and so arguably there needs to be some youth injected at the appropriate time.
By the time of Ronaldo's retirement, Odegaard will have been schooled at the club for at least a couple of years but will still be just 18 or so.
Alongside the likes of Jese and co., the Norwegian can rule the roost at Madrid for years.
