Chile International Alexis Sanchez will not be available for Arsenal for their London derby tie against Tottenham Hotspurs due to a hamstring injury, manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed.
The former Barcelona star missed the gunners 5-0 demolition of Aston Villa at the Emirates last weekend and was expected back against bitter rivals Spurs on Saturday but has now been effectively ruled out.
However, the manager confirmed he is back in training but will not be match ready for the Spurs game.
"The latest is that Alexis is not ready," says Wenger. "He is not far away, the Leicester game is a possibility. He is of course very difficult to keep quiet. He is training but it's light training."
Sanchez has scored 18 goals for the gunners in all competition this season thus far in a remarkable first season at the Emirates but will be unable to add to that tally with the latest report.
