Official: Swansea sign Naughton

Swansea City have completed the signing of Tottenham full-back Kyle Naughton.

The Liberty Stadium have been looking to bolster their defence, and Soccer Glee Official source understands the former Sheffield United man joins for a fee of £5 million.

The 26-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the Swans, and is available for Saturday's FA Cup tie against Blackburn Rovers.

Naughton made 74 appearances for Tottenham after signing for the north London side in 2009, but has struggled to mantain a regular place in the starting XI.

He has made just five Premier League appearances for Mauricio Pochettino's side this season, though he has still managed to be sent-off twice, and he is hoping to get more opportunities following his move to south Wales.

"My main aim is to start playing regular football again, " he told the club's official website.

"I know it's going to be a tough challenge because there are some very good players here, but that's my goal."

The England Under-21 international becomes Swansea's third signing of the January transfer window, following the arrivals of Nelson Oliveira and Matt Grimes.
